Theatre News
It is officially going to be "Stage Door". I am in high school theatre. I've been in the department since I was a freshman. It's where all my close friends are, it's my haven. Yes, well we just finished up "Our Town" last weekend. I played Mrs. Webb. I loved playing her. I can't believe I wanted the part of Emily in the first place. hehe... No Peighton did a fabulous job. I couldn't see any one else doing it the way she did. She WAS Emily. Anywho. That's over with and now we're jumping into a whole other world for the winter show. "Stage Door" is about a boarding house in the 1930's for young actresses trying to make it on broadway. So many characters! It was difficult to keep track when I first started reading it. They all have their little personalities and eccentricities. It's a lot of fun to read. It pretty much centers aroun the house called "The Footlighter's Club" and the girls who live there. It takes us through character journies, each personality more diverse than the first, and their reasons for choosing acting as a career. The main character is a girl named Terry. She's a new arrival. She's described as not very pretty, and would be plain looking without her bright, glowing face. She is a strong girl, and sticks to her dream of becoming a stage actress, even though the enticing offers to become part of the movie buisness present themselves to her. I'm not finished yet, but I absolutely LOVE it so far. Can't wait! Auditions on Monday!!!

Art News
I'm in my first art class this year. I really like it. I 've learned so much already. We did some scrath art at the beginning of the year from a still life sketch. We're doing sequential art work, and currently I'm working on my rodeo art piece, drawn from a photo. I got it at the last minute, so it's just me in a cowboy hat in front of a chili bush. It's simple and the contrat isn't that great, but there are some really intricate details in it that will make it stand out. I'm doing the line work now and then I'll do shading. (that's gonna be a first.) I'm excited!
